Water-based adhesives for wood jointing
PVAc white glue is one family of water-based adhesives used for panel jointing, finger jointing and furniture assembly. Not all water-based adhesives are PVAc. Suitability for cold, hot or high-frequency pressing must be confirmed for the specific grade and process.
Check the grade’s documented moisture-resistance classification. D3/D4 labels alone do not establish heat resistance, solvent resistance or suitability for load-bearing structures. Results also depend on the wood species, particularly oily woods.
Veneer lamination for furniture production
Techbond’s woodworking adhesive range includes PVAc adhesives for laminating veneer onto panels. This differs from joining the edges of thin veneer sheets, where hot-melt adhesives are used on suitable splicing equipment. For grade selection, provide the veneer and substrate types, bonding area, press type and moisture-resistance requirements so the relevant TDS and trial conditions can be reviewed.
